This tapered scarf is knit in a yarn that falls gracefully over the shoulder. A beautiful accessory for year-round outfits! Click here for class dates.
Our popular French Market Bag is now in fair isle! Now you will have your one-of-a-kind market bag just by adding beautiful color (not shown in photo). Class begins Saturday, March 13th at 1:30pm.
Those of us who’ve knit with beads know that you “usually” have to thread the beads before you begin knitting. No more! Learn how to add beads as you go with this darling knitted bracelet made with metallic yarn. You’ll want to make more for gifts. A fast fun project that’s beautifully finished.
Come to our Spring Workshop at Pine Lake Country Club to get started.
This lovely bag is knitted in a unique “yarn” which we have never carried before and is new for Spring. Grace is known for her creativeness when it comes to bags and purses and she’s been having tons of fun “playing” with this yarn.
The yarn very much resembles the straw bags we’ve all purchased and love. This photo is not the “exact” purse we’ll be knitting but will give you an idea of one of the patterns possible for this particular yarn. Grace is in the process of finaliziing ours and will provide “the real thing” soon. We all need surprises, right?
This is one of the projects featured in our Spring Workshop at Pine Lake Country Club in April.
Noni bags are bags to be worn, not just carried. They are, like jewelry or any adornment, extensions of our personalities.
Everyone who’s been in the shop and seen these purse patterns and handles either wants one or wants someone to make them one. They come in sizes from itty-bitty evening bag to bowling bag!

With beautiful new fall and winter yarns arriving almost daily, we’re putting together project kits for your shopping ease and project pleasure. Comprised of a pattern or book, yarn and other necessities, we’ve priced our kits to move.
Yarns from Louisa Harding such as Willow Tweed (pictured) combine together to make an adorable purse called “Hawthorn.” This kit is available NOW — while it lasts!
The “Brea Bag” has become a favorite here at the Cottage. Ours is made from a great cotton yarn for the summer, but we will be knitting our next one from one of our beautiful winter yarns.
Everyone who has seen our shop sample wants to make it…….you will too!! Kits for this project will include a free pattern and sufficient yarn. Also available for sale are purse handles and decorative buttons.
Classes are scheduled for September 15 & 22. See our class calendar on our Home Page.
Colder temperatures (and football games) are just around the corner. (So is the season for gift giving!)
We’re making a pair here in the shop out of a superwash yarn by Lanett in a lovely ivory color.
We’re planning a class for this in which you’ll learn knitting in the round and how to knit lace without resorting to lace weight yarn. Class is scheduled for Oct. 31, Nov. 7 & 14. (See Home Page for all classes).
I love a cowl — the warmth around my neck without having a scarf hanging down — and they’re so chic!
This season’s Knitscene magazine features an irresistible project that I’m working on right now — the Contemporary Cables Cowl.

"Ice" Alpaca Silk
I’ll be using a customer favorite — Blue Sky Alpacas’ Alpaca Silk — in the color “Ice.” I haven’t chosen my buttons yet, so drop in and give me your vote for which one suits it best. I’m not crazy about the buttons they used on the one in the magazine.
If you haven’t yet learned to work cables, here’s your chance. We’ll be knitting this in a class that will also teach buttonhole techniques. Look at the class schedule on September 16 & 23 “Pale Skies Cowl” for all the details.
If you already know how to work cables, a small project like this would be a good one to experiment going without a cable needle. Expand your skills — and if you need support, we’re here for you at the Cottage.
